Just one day after Valentine's Day, my fellow Alzheimer's Association Advocates and I climbed the hill to the Tennessee state capitol in Nashville. We spoke to our legislators about the needed funding for Alzheimer's Disease and how vital it is specific legislation to be enacted to protect our loved ones that suffer from this terrible disease. The Day On The Hill is always one of my favorite days. Senator Kerry Roberts is a dear friend who is always kind enough to have me as his guest on the floor of the senate - as a history and government nerd, it's a dream come true for me. Having the chance to sit down and speak one on one with our state legislators about how necessary it is to fund Alzheimer's Research is one of my vital tasks as the state congressional advocate- by bringing stories to our representatives and being the present voice and spirit for those who cannot physically make the trip to the capitol, we are fighting on behalf of the 110,000 Tennesseeans suffering from Alzheimer's. I'm so grateful for the incredible advocates standing with me who gave up their days to travel to Nashville and speak for those who cannot- you are all my heroes. I look up to you and thank you so much for the warriors that you all are for Alzheimer's disease.
